We’ve been working on turning our guestroom into more of an office, so I sold all the big pieces of furniture on Craigslist and the rest of it will be gone during our upcoming neighborhood yard sale. Now that all the walls are bare, I’ve been obsessing over how I want to redecorate. I finally got around to purchasing the first piece for the room - a reprint of a painting I was eyeing at the Virginia Highland Summerfest.

It’s called “Look at Me” by Atlanta artist Timothy Boyd. You can check out his Etsy shop at www.waterbears.etsy.com.

I’m a fan of DSW… but ONLY the one on Lenox Road in Buckhead. Why? They’re the only one in Atlanta that has a designer discount section (in the back, right corner). I always find the most unbelievable bargains here.
Check out the Stella McCartney’s I recently got. Original price was $645. DSW price was $399.94. Oh…. but wait! On top of that it was 80% off the DSW price! Unbelievable yah!? And they’re very comfy! So my $645 shoes came out to be $80! It’s not a one time thing either… I find bargains like that there all the time.
I couldn’t take a decent picture because Stink kept getting in the way…

This past Friday, I treated myself to some self sympathy shopping after a hellish day that had to do with the stupid downtown Atlanta DMV. To make myself feel better I visited one of my most favorite Atlanta stores, Victory Vintage Home in Decatur. I ended up scoring some awesome vases that looked really good in the condo.

The yellow planter was 50% off. I splurged a little bit on the white vase. I want to kick myself for not remembering the name of the local Atlanta artist who made it… it’s so cute with the craspedia (billy buttons) I got from the Dekalb Farmers Market! Hopefully I can find out the next time I go back.

These 2 vases were on sale for $5 each (previously $20!) I used one as a toothbrush holder. The other holds a hydrangea stem from our yard.

Next door to the Atlanta Cupcake Factory was an antique shop that caught our attention called Highland Row Antiques. They had a great collection of 50’s and 60’s pieces not to mention an interesting collection of vintage porn magazines which curiously managed to seem more artsy than raunchy. I left with this super cute old Manning Bowman fan for 35 bucks that fits in nicely at our condo. It still works too! The nice lady at the store told me I should probably keep it away from kids and pets since the steel blades are pretty open… guess they didn’t have the same safety requirements back in the day!
